Addiction Psychiatry

While I consider myself a general psychiatrist first, I have advanced training, board certification and years of experience in addiction psychiatry. I use multiple therapies to help manage addiction, including Network Therapy, Group Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy. No matter the type of therapy, a key to positive outcomes is understanding and treating any underlying psychiatric problems and symptoms. There are also multiple pharmacotherapies that can help manage addictions, including nutritional interventions, anti-craving medications, and buprenorphine (Suboxone). Psychotherapy and twelve-step meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous are essential to recovery for most people.
